There was a big advertisement for the Rifle Hospital, aka Sanitarium,
run December 15, 1916. Just a week later, an article announced the
closing and pending conversion to a Hotel, the Midland Hotel.
The
Sanitarium had opened in 1907. It would not be until December 4, 1952
before Rifle officially had another hospital, the Rifle Community
Hospital.
