FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH

William Henry Applegate was pastor at the First Christian Church just 52 days. He arrived in Rifle November 29, 1916 and passed away here January 20, 1917.

CHRISTIAN CHURCH

The Rifle Presbyterian Church building was started by a smaller denomination called The Christian Church. Rev. Horace Mann was the first pastor in the original building. Construction began in the spring of 1905 and the church was dedicated April 1, 1906. It finally became the Presbyterian, but was taken down because of structural problems. The stained glass windows were purchased and saved

This is now in the Rifle Library- and other stained glass pieces are displayed in the Rifle City Hall
