Photo History
CAPTION:
Reading the note that Henry P. Swick wrote to my great
grandmother, I would assume Denver would be the appropriate
county. The picture on the card appears to have been taken by by
him or at his behest, and was printed on the postcard as a vanity
item. (I have a postcard from my ggm to my gm about 1915
complaining she had to pay a dollar for ten of a similar type.) I
believe that Henry Swick lived in or near Denver at the turn of
the century (maybe as early as the 1880s), but I haven't yet
verified that by checking the 1900 census.
The bison in the park were probably a source of great pride for
the locals. If you do decide to put it on the web, maybe it will
inspire someone to do a little research into the local history.
