returned for family reunions at least as late as 1914.
George was a tall man and he usually wore a cowboy hat, so
he could be spotted in the pictures. Great Aunt Eddie and
her sister Mabel remembered the Powells, though they
didn't know their cousins. I believe that at the time the
later pictures were made, the Powells were living in
Longmont. I'm not sure about this oldest picture. Though
we knew the names of the Powell's children, she could not
identify them in this picture. Someone in the family
continued to send pictures to Mary's brother Kelley Houck
until the mid-forties.

the historic Mapleton Hill District in Boulder, is just
one example of some of the beautiful historically
significant homes in the area. The Queen Anne
architectural style gives this building its classic
Victorian grace. Built during 1882–1883 by Norwegian
immigrant John Hammer for businessman Edwin J. Temple, the
house has been remodeled several times. Located at 1507
Pine Street, it now serves as professional offices.
