Erie Colorado school. This one is dated approximately 1916.

On the back of the picture are the following cryptic notations. I don't know if the rows are counted from top to bottom, or bottom to top, and I don't know if the students are numbered left to right, or right to left:
1st row, second student is Betty Sinakman (spelling uncertain).
2nd row: #5 is Doris Mason; #6 is Jean Davis; #7 is Ethel Davis; #9 is Marjorie Simpson, my mother.
3rd row: David Phillip, Kenneth James, Buddy Sherratt, Holland Swallow, Nicky, Hank Neave (spelling uncertain).
Also on the back is written Mrs. Albert James and Miss Johnson.

This picture is of Henrietta Glover and her daughter Dolly. The two men were boarders and the child is unidentified. This picture must have been taken after William, John and Harry died. The photographer was from Boulder (L. Meile) but only states it was taken in mining country in Colorado.

Brothers, Harry L. & John G. Glover, were both killed the same day in an accident in the "Adit Tunnel," 13 January 1897. Both are buried at Sunshine Cemetery between Boulder and Gold Hill.

On the back of this picture: "this is the home where Henrietta lived in Colorado". Dolly Glover sent it to her grandparents. (No identities are available for the people shown in the photo.)

The back of this picture only has "William Glover somewhere in Boulder." The other person is probably his youngest son Richard.

Dolly Glover's graduation class (Boulder), probably about 1897. She was born in 1879; with her is Bessie Edwards, Maggie Clark, Marvin [?] Clark, Maude Search, and S. H. Stanton, the teacher.

Ernest Talfred Hill. Photograph taken in 1949, at age 49, in Boulder, CO. That is a Public Service Company pin on his lapel.

Jack Telford Hill. He moved with his family to Boulder in 1936, at 6 years of age. He lived there until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1947. He attended Whittier School, Highland Elementary, University Hills (when it was a Junior High School), and Boulder High School. This photo was taken about 1955 after he was appointed Storekeeper First Class.

Robert Parke Hill, who was 5 years of age when the family moved from Denver to Boulder. He attended Whittier School, Highland Elementary, University Hills (when it was a Junior High School), and Boulder High School.

Houck Henry Powell was born 16 June 1887 and died Sept., 1968. He was married to Dena Hoffman.

Robert Powell and Mary Alice Houck, who migrated to Colorado from Caldwell County, N.C. They returned for family reunions at least as late as 1914. George was a tall man and he usually wore a cowboy hat, so he could be spotted in the pictures. Great Aunt Eddie and her sister Mabel remembered the Powells, though they didn't know their cousins. I believe that at the time the later pictures were made, the Powells were living in Longmont. I'm not sure about this oldest picture. Though we knew the names of the Powell's children, she could not identify them in this picture. Someone in the family continued to send pictures to Mary's brother Kelley Houck until the mid-forties.

Taken in Louisville (Boulder County) just after the turn of the century, the surrey is driven by William W. Cowdery. His wife, "Oueenie" is in the rear seat with an unidentified person. Riding shotgun is one of his children, probably Bill.

The Temple-Bowron House, located in the historic Mapleton Hill District in Boulder, is just one example of some of the beautiful historically significant homes in the area. The Queen Anne architectural style gives this building its classic Victorian grace. Built during 1882–1883 by Norwegian immigrant John Hammer for businessman Edwin J. Temple, the house has been remodeled several times. Located at 1507 Pine Street, it now serves as professional offices.
