A BRAVE BOY |
---|
Pagosa Springs News Tonny, the 11-year-old son of Colonel C. F. Stollsteimer, is the proudest boy in America. The other day he saw a buck inside the fence and tackled him with a 32 calibre Winchester at 300 yards and hit him; the buck came after the boy who ran about 50 yards turned about and fired and hit again, the buck still coming. The boy flew like a Brownie through the deep snow, but turned again fired and hit the buck still coming and the boy running. He faced about again and fired the fourth time shooting the buck through the heart. His little 8-year-old sister Stella was with him she said next morning: “Tonny by this time all the world knows you killed that buck even as far as China.” The boy now hangs his clothes on the horn of the buck in front of his bed and the Winchester finds a place under his pillow. The wonder is that the boy hit the buck every time under his excitement. Verily frontier boys are not degenerating. |
