Robert "Russell"
PENDERGRASS (PENDERGRAFT)
b. 1830-1840 poss.
Alabama or S. Carolina. He apparently abandoned his family in Alamosa or
Pueblo area in the late 1800's. His family (wife & children) move to Idaho
sometime between 1880 and 1897 when his wife, Sarah b. 1838 in GA., dies
and is buried in Cassia Co.. I would be interested he or any of his
family appears in a census for the area in 1880. Thanks ahead of time.

DE JONG.
I have been trying to find information on the DE JONG family, that was "imported"
to the Alamosa and Sterling area to help (?) settle the west. My information is that the Railroad was somehow
involved with 'planting' many of these colonies. This family was later very important in starting the Dutch enclave
of Pella, Iowa. Does anyone have resources to tell if this actually occured and approximately the year, the
result, and if it was a success? Thank you for your time and any info you can send or suggest.

Lydia
TURNBULL.
I am researching the TURNBULL's of Hooper. I have several post cards of my Great
Grandmother Houseman's that were sent from a Lydia TURNBULL of, first Monte Vista, then Hooper. The dates
are of 1913-1914. There is mention of a family farm (ranch) owned by her parents, I believe in Monte Vista. Anyone
having any information on this family please contact me. Lydia called my Great Grandmother Aunt. Also a Jake
HOUSEMAN
lived there in the early 1900's.
Thank you, Kathy Brown, Grundy Center, Iowa.
