park county courthousePark County was established in 1861, it is one of Colorado's original counties, and one of the oldest.  The county was named after the large geographic region known as South Park, which was named by early fur traders and trappers in the area  The county seat is Fairplay. 

In 1874, its residents built a courthouse, which is still standing today.
