Button Originally a public cemetery, now is private and abandoned.   It is thought that this cemetery was used by the people that worked on the Gunnison Tunnel, but this cannot be proved. *  There are two known burial dates of 1901 and 1902.  There are 19 graves.**

Directions: Located about 5 miles S of Montrose on US 550 to Trout Road, east 1.6 miles, on the east side of the road.

Cimarron Montrose County, CO

In town of Cimarron on US Hwy 50.  The cemetery is on the hillside  west of Newberry's Store.

Was in Gunnison county, but as county lines have changed, the cemetery is presently in Montrose County.    TRANSCRIPTIONS

Public cemetery, but privately owned, and still in use.  Established 1890's with the first burial about 1896.  

Directions: From intersection of US 50 & CO 90 in Montrose, take CO 90 West to Chipeta Drive, .06 miles to Sunset Mesa Drive, ..09 mile to Grandview Cemetery.

Maher
(Delta Co.)
Old Crawford Cemetery AKA Maher Cemetery. The cemetery is located in Delta County. It is included in this volume as most of the people buried there were residents of the Maher area which is located in Montrose Co. 
The location is one mile south of Crawford on highway 92 on a bluff overlooking the north east side of the Crawford Reservoir. The abandoned cemetery is on private property with no public access. (note: only six inscriptions)

Pea Green Inscriptions:  1887 to Feb 1988

Directions: From Pea Green Corner go 1.1, (just past Amber Road) turn right on unimproved road.

The first burial was 1887, incorporated 1930, this public cemetery is still in use.*

From the intersection of CO 141 & 97 in Naturita, go east on CO 141 about 3 ½ miles, turn north onto CO 90, go north and east about 8 miles to Pinon, on east side of river. *

Ute Cemetery Nucla  CO 81424

First burial 1962 in this private cemetery which is still in use.  Most burials of Cooper family.  Located on private land up river from the Nucla Power Plant.  About 2 miles NW of the town of  Ute, about 10 miles E of Pinon on CO 90.

Ute Indian Memorial Park Colorado State Park.  

Located about 2 miles S of Montrose on US Hwy 50 to the Ute Museum on Chipeta Road.

Contains the graves of Chipeta, (wife of Chief Ouray), Chief John McCook (brother of Chipeta)  and a monument for Chief Ouray & Chipeta (Chief Ouray is buried at Ignacio, CO).
