Go 1 mile, turn right onto Battlement Parkway. Go 1.4 miles, turn
right onto Stone Quarry Road. The cemetery is .2 miles on the left.
Turn left onto Underwood Lane.

"Soon after Colorado gained statehood in 1876, Fielding Steele and his
wife Jane Brooks Steele moved with their family from Iowa to homestead
along nearby Parachute Creek. They were among the early settlers in this
area. Jane Brooks Steele died in 1891 and was buried on the hillside just
east of their homestead cabin. Many of their 12 children made their homes
in Colorado and the west."
"When the grave was relocated from the homestead to this final resting
