MASSIER

I am looking for any information related to a possible suicide at 12574 N Woodland Tr., Parker, CO 80138 in the Ponderosa Hills subdivision in the 80's, probably mid to late 80's. My research appears to indicate Ellen Massier may be the person who commtted suicide in the house at that location. I am considering buying the property and am looking for any information available related to this sad event in the property's history. Timothy Hall March 18, 2001.



NILES

I am seeking information on the 6/29/1918 auto accident at Larkspur in Douglas County in which my grandmother, Helen (Murray) Niles (Mrs. R.W. Niles) was killed. Helen was a Denver, Colorado resident at the time. I believe Tyler Brandt was driving and the group of friends was planning to attend the grand opening of the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. My mother, Jane Ruth Niles, was injured in the accident. The event was written up in the local papers. If possible I would like to learn the names of others in the car at the time. TYSON

Jonathan Radcliffe TYSON and his wife Mary Stocking Tyson share a common death date of 19 May 1864 in Castle Rock, Colorado. Jonathan was about 30 years old at the time.

I am a descendant Moses PARKER, brother to James and George who founded Parker, Colorado. Moses had a homestead in Parker by 1879 and he is listed on the 1870 census. He was married to Harriet Tobler, who died in childbirth in 1892 - Moses committed suicide two months later. His only living child, Mary Elizabeth Parker, married Homer Benton Tyler, son of George F. I am trying to see if there is a link between Philip Francis ROACH b. 1881 Sedalia, Douglas Co., CO and Philip ROACH and Mary KELLY. I have seen his parents listed as Philip ROACH and Mary KELLY. If this is the family I am looking for, Mary KELLY was born 1854 in CT d. 1882. Her parents were born in IRE. Both families lived in Whitewater, Walworth Co., Wi, and some of them are buried there, including Mary KELLY ROACH, but not Philip. Does anyone have any information on these families? John HERREN bought the California Ranch from Frank Gardiner in Franktown. Celeste (HINKHOUSE)was his wife. They had four children: ,Arthur, Frank, John, Grace. His Daughter Grace married Fred Ten Eyck. They had two children Carol and Wade. All except wade are buried in the Franktown Cemetery. They knew the Wheelers.

I am the great great granddaughter of Henry H. FAILING According to his obituary and the obituary of his wife Abigail CASEY FAILING they were pioneers to Colorado in 1865. For thirty-four years they resided on a ranch in Douglas County. And then they moved into Denver to live. I am wondering if and where I can locate Homesteading Deeds, land records, school records and information about the family in the Douglas County from approx. 1865-1900 +. Their oldest son Ezra may have ran the ranch after they moved. I appreciate any help.

STEWART

I would like to make contact with anyone who is researching the ALDERMAN, STARK, or SUTPHIN families who lived in Douglas County, CO. from 1872 to the mid-1940s. Newton B. ALDERMAN, (son of John H. ALDERMAN and Adelia BUCKMAN), m. Ida STARK (daughter of James R. and Sarah STARK) in 1881. They had 3 children: Minnie, James Grant, and Ida. Ida STARK ALDERMAN died in 1887. Newton ALDERMAN then married Georgia SUTPHEN (SUTPHIN) IN 1889. Georgia SUTPHIN had been a Douglas County school teacher before her marriage. Any information would be appreciated.

William was in Richland co, Wisconsin in 1860 census, then Kansas in 1870. Wife's name was Eliza Ann Lowers Shay. Can't find her after 1860 census. Seeking info on the Snead family of Colorado. My grandmother, Susan Aletha SNEAD married Elmer Sam BILLINGS approx 1918. They met in Colorado, in Fremont, El Paso, Elbert, Eagle, Douglas, Dolores, or Denver Counties; children Melvin Clarence BILLINGS b 1919; Ethel Marie BILLINGS JAMES b1925 and Vernon Elmer BILLINGS b 1927 d 1997. KELLEY, Newton Issac, b;abt 1840, d;abt 1860. According to family history he was killed by a person for either his team, wagon, and freight load, or his profits from such load at or near "Old Guide Rock" now Castle Rock in Douglas Co. CO. According to the story, a Catholic Priest took a confession from the robber on his death bed, and notified Newtons wife in Brownville NE on the priests return east. Newton was married to Elanor Pierce. Any info on this will be greatly appreciated.
