Baker http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~shadywoo/index.htm April 1, 2002 ================================================= SAM SCARLETT DIED TODAY This morning at 2 o’clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Stotz, in the Pomona district, occurred the death of Samuel Scarlett, aged 84 years and six months, and for the past 17 years a resident of the Grand Valley. Mr. Scarlett had been in rapidly failing health for the past year, and had been seriously ill for some time past. Mr. Scarlett is survived by four children; Mrs. E. M. Hetzel, Mrs. Stotz, James and Will Scarlett, all residents of this valley. The funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Bethel church, conducted by the Rev. Fleisher.
